The Ultimate Therapy

We were just going over a personal "shield" that Allie made at school...divided up with information all about her and outlined in glitter.

She had the standard "favorite food" (spaghetti), "favorite color" (purple), "favorite animal" (actually I don't remember that one...it looks like a cat or a dog).

On the section that says "favorite thing to do" she wrote "cri". What?! Yes, she said her favorite thing to do was cry because sometimes in school she just wants to be home, so she wants to cry. One day she even told me, " I felt like crying today, but I didn't. I just cried in my own mind."

How sad is that!

So, we revisited the "crying is my favorite thing" just yesterday because she saw it on her shield and laughed at it. She said she likes lots of things better than crying but she does like to cry because "sometimes it just feels good to cry." I asked her if it made her sad to cry, but she said no, it just feels good.

As a parent, I was concerned, since this is just my little girl. But, as a person, I know how completely refreshed I feel after a good cry. (And thankfully she's a happy little girl who doesn't cry very often because she's too busy having fun and working hard at playing!)

I know, it's not Allie, but I couldn't find any pics of her crying...LOL.
