On the first day of school I really tried to encourage Allie to eat the school lunch for the first few days so that she would learn the routine while all the other kids were. But, she insisted on using her new Princess lunchbox and having cold lunch. So, for the past 2 months, Allie has been enjoying her PBJ, Motts for Tots, Dora yogurt, string cheese, nuts, and no sugar added fruit roll.
On Wednesday, I started to make her lunch and we were out of the few regular items. I started to look for different things to put in it, but Dustin was able to talk her into having hot lunch at school. "Well, the cheese pizza looks kind of yummy!" was her response, so...Wednesday she came home raving about her grilled cheese sandwich, carrots with dip, and chocolate milk and grape juice. I'm not sure how they are making that food fit in to the National School Lunch regulations, or IF they are, but she seemed willing to eat lunch at school again yesterday, because it was cheese pizza day! That was fine I guess, not as yummy as she thought it would be, but she ate all her salad.
Today, Allie was so excited after school. "My cheeseburger was really yummy and I loved the cheese part. I also had strawberry milk and juice, pickles, and teeter totters!"
I just asked her to repeat it to me; despite my correction only 30 minutes ago, she still called them teeter totters.
LOL
