Alex's Greek Mythology Project

A fun video...apparently it showed enough of their Greek understanding that they got a 100! :)

Random Quotes From Post-It Notes While Cleaning Out My Purse

I just bought a very cute new notepad for my purse. The old one was a sticky pad that I got from our hotel in Hawaii. It was cute; it's all used up and wrinkled and the pages are bent. I'm so glad that I wrote these quotes down, because I didn't remember them until I cleaned out my purse today!

Do you remember the Standin' Tall tapes?! We listened to The Land of Obey so often that it broke. When I ordered the CD's I realized that it had been broken long enough that Allie wasn't even familiar with them. I also learned that there's a reason that I forgot some of them. I love some of the stories...really don't like a couple of them. Captain Dependable is one of our favorites, but there's a bit of a technology gap in the story. Captain Dependable becomes UNdependable thanks to Professor Un and his Procrastinite. He sings, "In a minute, in a while, I will do it, with a smile...when the commercial comes I'll jump right up and do it!" Allie didn't see the point in his procrastination..."He should just pause it." I told her that when they wrote the song, they didn't have DVR's that can pause the TV show while you're watching it. How funny that she thought that was just weird.

An older man at church was relating a story about his meeting with his mother and siblings. He talked about how glad he was that they could all meet together. The quote I wrote:
"I was grateful that I was with my family and walking across that parking lot without a hitch in my get-along." I laughed to myself and continued to laugh because...well, that phrasing is just funny.

Of course, Aidan is full of cute quotes right now. He's learning new words and new phrases every day and figuring out how they all fit in to conversation. One thing he expresses right now is repetition...like the same word in order to place great emphasis...
"My teemy ay ayee ayee ayee ayee ayee hungee." (my tummy is very very very very very very hungry.)
"This ay ay ay ay ay ay ay ay cweepy." (this is very very.....creepy)
"Lally pin pin pin pin pin me wound wound wound wound wound wound wound and wound. I deezy!" (Allie spun me around and around....I'm dizzy!)

I found a lot of less interesting things in my purse too, but totally not worth sharing.

Advent Messages

This year, when I opened the doors to add candy to the advent calendar, I found the cutest messages from Allie. She had already been hard at work adding notes to the boxes. She only got to #4 by the time we got to it, but continued her sweet messges in pictures and notes throughout the house.
Advent Calendar door #1: I Love Christmas!!! I Love Santa Clous!!!!!! (two of those exclamations had hearts for the dots)
Advent Calendar door #2: I like decorasheins.
Advent Calendar door #3: I hope Santa is Real.
Advent Calendar door #4: I hope Roodof is Real!

I'm definitely leaving the memos in there to find and remember 11 months from now!
