Autumn Time at our House

HAPPY FALL!!!

Although the temperatures here are mostly far from "Fall-ish," today is actually a colder day, so I thought these pics were finally appropriate. Yesterday, 85 degrees, Tomorrow, 75 degrees...today, a high of just 68 and rain and wind!

Side note, one wreath from last year, one from this year. I'm trying to convince myself that they are close enough and not buy another matching one from this year...anyone want to vote on it?

Manic Monday: Leaf

RED
is the vibrant passion of nature preparing for rest and renewal
BROWN
ties autumn to the earth and all its bounty
YELLOW
brightens the cooler days with the light of the sun
ORANGE
gives the warmth of the glowing fire to the crispness in the air

The warm colors of autumn are reason enough to love the season. But fond memories of time with loved ones makes it even better.
When I was in elementary school, I was assigned a project that became more than a memory for later years, but a permanant feeling of warmth on the crisp, cool days.
My leaf collection wasn't just another grade in school...it was quality time with my mom. We walked down our street, around the block, and through the leaves in the park. I was amazed at how many leaves my mom could identify. It was one of those "my parents know everything" moments and I was so proud of my leaf collection. Not only because it was beautiful, but because it was a souvenir of my peaceful time with my amazing mom.

Friday's Fabulous Five

1. Fantastic vacuum cleaner that makes my floor look like new. I seriously don't know what I was thinking when I tried to buy something else. Dyson (allergy and asthma) is the best...nothing else will do.

2. Fabulous new bagless technology that lets us see all the dirt that is no longer on the carpet and in the air. I love seeing dirt in the canister!

3. Fantastic children with minds of their own. They can think, ponder, and make decisions and choices. They are brilliant, although sometimes I wish they wouldn't share all of their opinions with me.

4. Fabulous, amazing body! Our bodies were designed so perfectly and it's incredible to see how much difference there is in one that works right and one that is sick. Thankfully, my head, ears, nose and throat are clear now, and I'm loving every moments of it.

5. Fantastic fall fun. Back to school adventures, football games, autumn decorating and talks of Halloween parties. It's still feeling like summer most of the time, but I walked outside yesterday morning and it smelled like fall. There was a crispness in the air and scent that is only there in September...no matter where you are!
