Don't let fear of failure discourage you. Don't let the voice of critics paralyze you—whether that voice comes from the outside or the inside. As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you but also the world within you. Oh, how I love to hear Elder Uchtdorf speak. He has such a positive and encouraging spirit about him and his delivery is always timed so precisely. I loved so much about this excerpt from him. When thinking of creation and talents, do we remember those small everyday gifts that make up our lives? Family memories and flowing laughter are some of THE most powerful talents and unfortunately, all too often overlooked in a society that demands bigger and better. I must have had the best combination of parents in the universe because I was able to enjoy so many talents from parents and siblings who shared without fear of critics. My dad tells wonderful stories of everyday events, which are then turned into wonderful memories for years to come. Our home was a happy home where love abounded and laughter came freely.  I am so thankful to have those kinds of memories and to have Elder Uchtdorf speak of those talents and remind me of the importance of sharing them.  ~Polly
